In Australia, immigration is managed by the Department of Home Affairs. The country has a points-based immigration system that assesses potential immigrants based on factors such as age, English language proficiency, work experience, and education. There are various visa options available for different purposes, including skilled migration, family reunification, and humanitarian reasons. Applicants must meet specific criteria and provide evidence to support their application. Once granted a visa, immigrants can live and work in Australia and may be eligible to apply for permanent residency or citizenship in the future. **

Australia wants to restrict immigration for several reasons. One of the main reasons is to manage population growth and ensure that the country's infrastructure and resources can support its residents. Additionally, there may be concerns about the impact of immigration on job opportunities and wages for Australian citizens. There may also be cultural or security concerns that drive the desire to limit the number of immigrants entering the country. **
